Dinner with Dave's Siblings

Our last night in Arizona we went to dinner with his brothers and sisters. It was fun spending time together.

As we were leaving to go to David's in California we stopped in Tucson to see Betsy and her daughter. We met them at Denney's for lunch. We hadn't seen Betsy for several years so we had a great visit with her and Marianne. Dave wanted you kids to see her fingernails. She said she has been disabled for a while so she just grows her nails!

On Wednesday we went to Aunt Betty's home to visit. We saw Robbie and Hope and Hopes children then we went on another drive to see some geneaology (grave stones) It was a fun day spent with Betty and Alvin and May and Wes.

On Monday (Labor Day) we went to stay with Vetta May and Wes. We had so much fun. We drove over 300 miles looking at Arizona and New Mexico and bringing back some fun memories. We drove up to Alpine and over to Mogollon (an old ghost town) and ate some fantastic Mexican food in Silver City. We really felt spoiled riding in Wes' new Jeep. We saw lots of wild life and because of so much rain the grass was green and beautiful!

We got here to Uncle Curt's this afternoon. The kids all came for Hawaiian Haystacks that Heather made. Yummy! Tomorrow Forrest will fly in so Curtis will be the only one missing. Not bad for 8 kids. Here are some pictures I've promised.

Tyrone and his wife Melissa and son TJ came over and spent the evening and had dinner with us. They are such a nice family. I wish you kids knew them!

We haven't seen Tyrone for years so we have been having a nice visit today. His wife Melissa and son Tyrone (TJ) will be coming soon. I'll do a picture of them for you when I can.

Bob has the most beautiful birds in his Avairy outside. They hear him coming and really make a racket. This is one of them and it was biting him like crazy!!! Also here are some more pictures of the outdoor dogs and some of his pretty plants. We are having a wonderful day and are loving it!

We made it to Red Rock Texas! Bob and Carol were both still at work so Dave and I looked for a food place on our GPS. We found a McDonalds about 15 miles away and decided go have dinner and kill some time there. After eating a salad we rented a movie at the Redbox out front and sat in the back seats of the car and watched a movie! It was so much fun, we had to put stuff on the front seats to have room to sit there but it felt like a date at the drive-in. We parked in the shade in the McDonalds parking lot so the rest rooms were close and it was easy to return the video afterwards. About 8pm we went to Bob's but still beat them home. We were greeted by their 13 dogs! 6 outdoor and 7 indoor dogs... no I am not kidding. We are sleeping on the hide-a-bed in the living room but I'm not sure if we will be alone or sharing with the dogs. This makes me decide I don't miss Harry very much. In fact I think maybe I don't like dogs very much. More Later!

McKinney, Collins County, Texas

Tonight we came as far as McKinney, Texas where James Lovelady (dads 3rd great grandfather) and Frances Crawford Wilmeth (another 3rd great grandfather) lived. We are staying at the local Days Inn and plan to get to Uncle Bobs tomorrow. I will take pictures there...

M0nday night we went to the Dutton Family Show in Branson and they were fantastic! We met them at church on Sunday. The mom taught Gospel Doctrine then sat with me in Relief Society and introduced me to everyone. The dad was the Bishop of the ward and we felt like old friends. They were very kind to us but we had no idea they were all so talented until the show. We were blown away. Both them and the Hughes were really good. We became friends with all of them and loved going to their shows. I highly recommend them both. I was surprised by Branson and how clean all the shows are. They say you can't find a show that wouldn't be fit for a young child. No wonder there are so many LDS groups playing there. I wish we could have seen the others.
