A lazy Sunday afternoon

Ahhhh retired and feeling pretty lazy. This will be a relaxing few weeks before the real work begins.

We're on our way!

After having a fun potluck in our honor on Wednesday and a Temple Retirement dinner on Thursday we planned to take off on our trip bright and early Friday morning. It didn't quite work out that way. We had so much to do to tie up loose ends and didn't leave until after 1 PM. Dave has been a little homesick for Harry. He feels bad about needing to leave him. Lynn and Sharon will be caring for him when they get there.

We drove to Branson Mo. and have seen some fun shows. We saw the Hughes Brothers last night and went with them to church today. We also went to the Titanic Museum on Saturday. Today we had a quiet Sabbath and only went to church. Tomorrow we will see Red Hot and Blue and the Dutton Brothers. They were also at church. It is a nice ward. We will leave for Uncle Bob's Tues Morning. I'll try to keep blogging when I have access.

Flying high

For our 41st anniversary on Sat Aug 16 dad took me flying. We took Jamie and went up and around the temple and our homes. It was a lot of fun. Marty and the girls were waving from below. We spent the whole day with Jamie and Marty.

Bishopric dinner

On Aug 15 we had a special dinner with our old Bishopric. We went to the Best Buffet in Quincy and really enjoyed being with good friends.

Dave's Retirement Begins

Dad and Mom asked me to post for them. They are all packed up and on the road. They wanted everyone to know how grateful they are for the wonderful parties and all the wonderful things that have been said about them and done for them. They really feel loved and it is really hard for them to leave such good friends and family. Mom will post more as soon as she can. She has promised me she will be diligent at keeping us all updated on their adventures. -Jamie

I'm getting pageant stuff all put together today and we have company coming tomorrow from California. The yard is starting to look pretty now thanks to dad. He planted these pretty hanging bags from little1 inch starts. There are 8 of them hanging on the deck.

Aunt Bessie comes to Nauvoo

This week Aunt Bessie Zeller came to visit with Aisling, Sidney and Laurence Pitt. She was a go getter! We had a lot of fun with them seeing sights, going to dinner and seeing Sunset every night!

California visit

David flew me out to California to play with the kids while he and Julie went to a wedding in LasVegas! FUN! I got to help do a cowboy party in Laurens school class and I took Mia to her first gymnastics class. She loved it! It was a fun week.

When we got home from Washington Thad and his family and some friends were here visiting. It was so fun to have them here and I have some cute pictures but they won't work!!! I'll keep trying to put them on.

Trip to Washington

As you know dad and I went to Washington the end of May to celebrate Pops 90th birthday with all my siblings and their spouses. We went to lake Palmer and it was so perfect! The weather, the family, the place, the food, the fun..... it was a beautiful ride over there and fun to spend the week with everyone. I tried to add a few pictures but for some reason they wouldn't load!! I'll try something else.
